ESSEX, CT — The Inland Wetlands and Watercourses Commission is scheduled to resume a public hearing Nov. 10 on a proposal to add one-bedroom housing units at 63 Westbrook Road in Centerbrook.
The application is from property owner 63 Westbrook Road LLC. According to the agenda, the units would have patios, and one proposed building, a leaching system, associated utilities and a water quality swale would be within 100 feet of wetlands.
The hearing was continued from Oct. 13. The application is also listed under unfinished business and action items.
Members are also scheduled to review a Zoning Board of Appeals referral concerning construction of a patio and pool at 50 Crosstrees Hill Road, within 100 feet of the coastal jurisdiction line.
The agenda also lists an application already approved by the commission's authorized agent for a linear drain in front of an existing garage at 199 Westbrook Road. The drain would direct water away from the garage and onto grass between the house and a pond, within 100 feet of wetlands. Richard Riggio and Sons is the applicant, and Judith Ladone owns the property.
An application to partially dredge a pond and restore its eroding edge at 47 Falls River Drive in Ivoryton appeared in an earlier amended agenda but is omitted from the town's second amended agenda.
Other scheduled business includes approval of the 2027 annual meeting schedule and Oct. 13 meeting minutes, along with an update on open permits and exempt activities.
The meeting is scheduled for 7 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 10, in Conference Room A at Essex Town Hall, 29 West Ave., Essex. Public comment is on the agenda.
Residents can also participate through Zoom, using meeting ID 865 8478 6036 and passcode 737122.
The commission's next meeting is scheduled for Dec. 8.
