A Covid-19 Positive Case at Valley Regional High School
A student at Valley Regional High School tested positive for Covid-19.
ESSEX, CHESTER, DEEP RIVER, CT — According to a press release sent out by Region District 4 on December 23, the district was informed by the local health authority that there was a positive student COVID-19 case impacting Valley Regional High School (VRHS). The last date the student attended VRHS was December 16, 2020. The student did not ride a school bus, nor participate in any afterschool clubs or activities.
This case impacted 22 students and five staff members at VRHS. The administration of Valley Regional High School and the Region 4 Central Office have notified families of students who had verified close contact with the known positive case. All individuals who had close contact with the known case will be contacted by local health departments.
Per health department guidelines, the quarantine period for this case will conclude during the winter break and thus will not affect the scheduled return to in-person learning at Valley on January 4th.
