Rusty Rail Tavern In Deep River Opens!
For the past three and half months, Joel Nucci and Rob Galbraith have been working hard to get the Rusty Rail Tavern ready to open!

DEEP RIVER, CT —The sun is shining, the birds are singing and spring has sprung. What better time to open a new eatery in the town of Deep River?
Joel Nucci and his partner Rob Galbraith, are excited to officially open the doors to their new Post and Beam Barn restaurant, Rusty Rail Tavern in Deep River, located at 439 b Main Street. With a spacious outdoor eating patio, which overlooks the Essex Steam Train tracks, a full bar and a varied American food menu, this new spot has all the makings to become a quick, local favorite.
Nucci, who comes from a restaurant background in Boston, said this business is something he and his family have wanted to do locally for some time. And Galbraith, is no stranger to the local restaurant scene having worked at the Pattaconk in Chester for some time.
"This place became available quickly and so we said, 'Why not?' Let's do this now! We have always wanted to'" explained Nucci.
Juxtaposing old-world charm with an antique decor, the restaurant is geared towards family and friends, offering hamburgers, pulled pork and Reuben sandwiches to name a few, along with wings, chicken fingers, salads and more. The full bar will be carrying a variety of different beers on tap including IPAs, Guinness and Loggers, as well as some local beers.
"We really want to make this a place where you can come and get the best meal of your life for a reasonable price and relax and enjoy yourself," said Nucci, who very excited about his new endeavor.
He added, "We already have a sign that says 'My barn, my rules'. So we aren't going to be tolerating any fighting or swearing or things like that, we want this to be a place where everyone feels comfortable coming."
Rusty Rail Tavern will be open Tuesday through Thursday 3 to 11 p.m., Fridays 3 to 12 p.m. Saturdays 12 to 12 p.m. and Sundays 12 to 8 p.m. For more information go to rustyrailtaverrn2021@gmail.com.
