Woman, 81, Killed In Hammonasset River Accident Identified: Reports
An 81-year-old woman who died in a canoeing accident Saturday has been identified as a Madison resident, according to reports.

CLINTON, CT — An 81-year-old woman who died during a canoeing accident Saturday morning while in the Hammonasset River has been identified. The woman was identified as Qiuhua Gua of Madison, according to WFSB 3-TV.
At 11:15 a.m. emergency crews from Madison, Clinton and the state of Connecticut came to the scene for an overturned canoe and a woman in the water, Fox 61 reported.
The investigation revealed that three people were in a canoe, and they were part of a state park led guided canoe program, WTNH News 8 and Fox 61 reported.
Gua was wearing a life jacket. Another adult and child on board were not injured.
Gua was transported to Middlesex Hospital Shoreline Clinic by Madison Ambulance personnel and pronounced dead, WFSB 3-TV reported.
