Untimely Death Of 5-Year-Old Probed In Chester: State Police

CHESTER, CT — State police are investigating the untimely death of a 5-year-old child on Monday.

State troopers and emergency medical personnel responded to a private residence Monday around 9:21 a.m. after receiving a report of a 5-year-old in cardiac arrest, according to state police.

Life-saving efforts were started at the scene, and the child was rushed to an area hospital by ambulance. The child was pronounced deceased at the hospital. The child’s family members were present and notified at the hospital, according to state police.

State police said the call for service has been recategorized from a medical assistance call to an untimely death investigation, which remains active.

State police declined to release additional information.
