10th Annual Step Up for the Brave Challenge

A fitness challenge to support Veterans experiencing homelessness.

Join us to make a difference for Connecticut's Veterans experiencing homelessness while getting a great workout! Homes for the Brave invites you to participate in the 10th Annual Step Up for the Brave Challenge on Saturday, August 17, at Sacred Heart University’s Martire Family Arena in Fairfield, CT.

All fitness levels are encouraged to join this fun and exciting signature fundraiser. Participants can choose between the Stair Climb Challenge, which involves climbing 500 arena stairs per round on a guided route, or the Walking Challenge, featuring a specially designed indoor course. For those unable to attend the main event on August 17th, the Step Up for the Brave 40,000 Step Challenge offers a virtual option, running from August 12 through August 16.

Co-hosted by WTNH Anchor/Reporter Alyssa Rae Taglia, WICC’s Melissa Sheketoff from Melissa in the Morning, and AJ from WPLR’s Chaz & AJ Show, entry is just $40. Participants will receive a dri-fit event shirt, a light breakfast, and the opportunity to compete for prizes. Register online at https://runsignup.com/stepupforthebrave.

Check-in starts at 8 a.m., with the stair climb and walk kicking off at 9 a.m. The arena is located at 3135 Easton Turnpike in Fairfield, CT.
