2 Accused Of Trying To Steal Tires, Rims In Fairfield: Police
One of the suspects was also in possession of a stolen car, according to police.

FAIRFIELD, CT — A man and woman are charged after police saw them trying to take tires and rims while also in possession of a stolen vehicle, according to police.
Officers on patrol about 3 a.m. Thursday saw Ernesto L. Hernandez loading a vehicle jack into a vehicle parked on Riverside Drive while Esthefani Vazquez sat in the front seat, a Fairfield police report said. The officers saw lug nuts laying in the driveway of a Riverside Drive address as well as milk crates that are often used to steal tires and rims, according to the report.
Police ran the vehicle identification number on the Honda that Hernandez was driving and discovered it was stolen from Bridgeport, the report said. The estimated value of the tires and rims the two were trying to steal was more than $2,5000, according to the report.

Hernandez, 23, was charged with larceny, attempted larceny and conspiracy to commit larceny, the report said, while Vazquez, 22, was charged with attempted larceny and conspiracy to commit larceny. Hernandez also had an active warrant out of Danielson for violating probation with a $15,000 bond, according to the report. Hernandez and Vazquez both were held on a $2,500 bond and given a court date of Dec. 20.
