2 Fairfield Schools Threatened; Increased Police Presence Friday

The superintendent urged community members to notify police if they learn of a potential threat and thanked those who alerted authorities.

FAIRFIELD, CT — There was an increased police presence Friday morning at two Fairfield schools after law enforcement was notified Thursday about threats to the schools, according to Fairfield’s superintendent.

The threats consisted of two separate incidents, one targeting Roger Ludlowe Middle School and the other threatening Fairfield Ludlowe High School, Superintendent Mike Cummings said in a message to school community members.

“The police immediately responded to both incidents and conducted investigations,” Cummings said. “They have concluded there is no credible evidence of a concern.”

Cummings urged community members to notify police if they learn of a potential threat and thanked those who alerted authorities Thursday.

“The safety of the members of our school communities remains our highest priority,” he said. “Each of us carries the responsibility to protect our community.”
