2 Sacred Heart Students Released From Hospital Following Crash: Police
Six people were seriously injured last week in a two-vehicle crash near the Sacred Heart University campus in Fairfield.
FAIRFIELD, CT ā Two of the six people seriously injured in last week's crash near Sacred Heart University in Fairfield have been released from the hospital, said Fairfield Police Lt. Edward Nook on Monday.
The two released from Bridgeport Hospital are female students at the university. Two other people at the hospital, the Uber driver who was transporting four female students at the time of the crash, and another female passenger, remain in critical but stable condition.
A fourth female student, who was admitted to St. Vincent's Medical Center, also remains in critical but stable condition.

The driver of the other vehicle, a male Sacred Heart student, who was also admitted to St. Vincent's, remains in critical condition, according to Nook.
Two GoFundMe campaigns have been launched to assist with the costs of surgeries and rehabilitation of the injured parties. One page, on behalf of Liv Graham, can be viewed here, and the other, on behalf of Tyler Delk, can be viewed here.

Both are battling significant injuries, with Delk in a medically induced coma, according to the GoFundMe page. Combined, the two initiatives have raised more than $70,000.
Fairfield police are continuing the investigation into the Friday crash, which occurred just after midnight on Jefferson Street near the university's Martire Family Arena.
The crash occurred when a 2018 Audi, traveling westbound on Jefferson Street, appears to have lost control and hit a curb.
The Audi then veered into the eastbound lane and hit a 2021 Toyota Corolla, which contained a the Uber driver and four female students. After the collision, the Audi, which only had the driver inside, came to rest on its roof.
"At this time, there are no updates with the investigation," Nook said in a statement to Patch and other media outlets.
