2 Stole Hundreds Of Dollars In Tires From Fairfield Biz: Cops
The men were arrested at the business owner's request, police said.

FAIRFIELD, CT — Two men are charged with stealing nearly $400 worth of tires from a Fairfield business, police said.
Julio Velasquez and Julio Armando Figueroa were stopped by police before 2 a.m. Wednesday with about 15 tires piled in the rear of their truck, according to a police report. The pair took about $375 in scrap tires from the back storage area of Fairfield Tire & Auto Center, 1370 Kings Highway Cutoff, the report said. The owner of the business said the tires are not available for people to take, as he planned to sell them for scrap, and requested arrests be made, according to police.
Both Velasquez, 61, the driver, and Figueroa, 46, the passenger, were charged with larceny and conspiracy to commit larceny and released on a written promise to appear in court, police said.
