3 Pounds Of Cannabis Seized By Fairfield Police, Arrest Made

The accused was released on a $10,000 bond.

FAIRFIELD, CT — The Fairfield Police Department announced the arrest of a Rhode Island man who is accused of possessing more than three pounds of pot, police said Saturday.

On Jan. 3 at 4:45 p.m. Samuel Burroughs, 28, of Cranston, RI, was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance, more than 1/2oz Cannabis, sale of 1Kg or more of Cannabis, and possession of a controlled substance within 1,500-feet of a school.

"This arrest and seizure was the culmination of an ongoing investigation by the Fairfield Police Department Detective Bureau. A traffic stop was conducted in the area of Garden Drive in Fairfield," the Fairfield Police Department said in a news release. "The driver and sole occupant, Samuel Burroughs, was found to be in possession of over three pounds of cannabis. Burroughs was taken into custody without incident."

Burroughs was released on $10,000 bond and scheduled to appear in Bridgeport Superior Court on Jan, 14.
