5 Dogs Rescued From Fire In Fairfield

The residents escaped a house fire and several dogs were rescued by firefighters.

FAIRFIELD, CT — Five dogs were rescued from a house fire on Stratfield Road on Saturday afternoon, according to fire officials. Three dogs were rescued from the basement of the structure and all five dogs are doing well, officials said.

The fire department shared a photo from the dramatic rescue on Facebook. The family escaped before crews arrived on the scene, according to the Connecticut Post.

News12 Connecticut reports two of the dogs briefly suffered severe smoke inhalation. There were no injuries reported from the fire. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
