$50,000 Winning CT Scratch-Off Lottery Ticket Sold In Fairfield

A local resident also was the lucky winner, according to the Connecticut Lottery.

FAIRFIELD, CT — A Fairfield resident is $50,000 richer this week after claiming a winning lottery ticket he purchased locally, the Connecticut Lottery announced.

On Tuesday, Anthony Quaranta Jr. claimed a winning "Lucky Cash" ticket he purchased at News Express on Tunxis Hill Road.

The game, which the lottery said has ended, cost $5 per ticket, began in early February, and as of Thursday, all three grand prizes of $50,000 have been claimed.

More than 1.2 million tickets were printed, and the overall odds of winning were 1 in 4.12.
