Town Phone Service Restored After 24-Hour Outage In Fairfield
The town's 911 system remained fully functional throughout.
FAIRFIELD, CT — Phone service has been restored for all town departments after it was down for about a day, according to an email from the town of Fairfield.
About 5 p.m. Tuesday, the town stopped receiving inbound calls and its service provider, Frontier, reported an issue affecting service throughout the state, the email — sent about 4:30 p.m. Wednesday — said, adding the issue had been resolved.
"We apologize for the inconvenience this may have caused," the email said.

The town's 911 system remained fully functional throughout.
Residents may still encounter isolated residual issues with AT&T mobile phones, according to the email, which encouraged anyone who is unable to contact town offices to call their mobile carrier.
