FAIRFIELD, CT — Fairfield officials are inviting residents and visitors to downtown on Wednesday, May 6, for the annual "Shop and Stroll into Spring" event, a town-backed shopping promotion with extended store hours, refreshments and in-store deals.
According to the Office of Community & Economic Development, the town and the Fairfield Chamber of Commerce are partnering on the event. More than 20 participating shops in downtown Fairfield will open at their regular times and stay open through 9 p.m. The announcement says patrons will have time to browse, enjoy light refreshments and shop local during a spring kickoff that also encourages early purchases for graduation and Mother’s Day.
The event will also include a "Shop & Stroll into Spring Pre-Event Happy Hour" at The Sinclair, 1229 Post Road. That gathering is scheduled to begin at 5 p.m., and attendees can stop in for food and drink specials before heading to participating stores. The town also said it will give away free Fairfield Buy Local tote bags with items from participating merchants while supplies last.
Participating merchants are Apricot Lane Boutique, Bailey Jaymes Boutique, Bluepoint Home, Capri, Ciao Bella, Element50, Fairfield University Store, Henry C. Reid Jewelers, Hope & Joy, In the Mood Intimates, Island Outfitters, Jane + Mercer, La Moda Fashion, Lolli Sutton, Marathon Sports, Marea by Liz Joy, NicholsMD of Fairfield, No. 299, OHSELLA, Team Woofgang & Co., The Beehive, The PEHT Shop, and Vintage Garden.
