FAIRFIELD, CT — A person was struck by a train Thursday morning near the downtown station in Fairfield, which led to the temporary closure of the station, according to authorities.
Details of the incident were not immediately available, but Fairfield police were assisting Metro-North personnel with the investigation.
"This is an isolated incident and there is no threat to the public," Fairfield police officials said in a statement.
The station has since been reopened, but commuters should expect delays.
