Fairfield International Food Fest Returns In September With Global Food, Music, Films

The popular event at Fairfield Theatre Company will feature 12 local food vendors, live performances and films.

FAIRFIELD, CT — Fairfield International Food Fest will return for its second year on Sept. 5, during Labor Day weekend at Fairfield Theatre Company, organizers announced. The full-day event is planned as a celebration of global food, culture and community, with programming spread across the FTC site indoors and outdoors.

Organizers said the festival will feature 12 local food vendors serving dishes from around the world. The lineup is set to include Caribbean jerk chicken, Puerto Rican pinchos, Indian specialties, Greek gyros, British comfort food and Italian classics, along with other offerings. Admission will include access to performances, films and activities, while food will be sold throughout the festival grounds.

Programming is scheduled across multiple FTC spaces. Highlights include international documentary screenings in StageOne presented in partnership with Bridgeport Film Fest, live music and cultural dance performances on the outdoor stage, and headliner bands in The Warehouse.

"We created the Fairfield International Food Fest to bring people together through food, music, and shared experiences," said Debbi O'Keefe, founder of ConnectFairfield. "In just its second year, it’s become a true reflection of the diversity and energy of our community, a place where you can try something new, spend time with family and friends, and experience cultures from around the world, all in one day."

The event is designed for both families and adults, according to the announcement. Planned activities include a kids’ passport experience, face painting, henna art, a Heritage Chalk Mural and “Around the World” photo installations. A dedicated 21+ tasting lounge will offer complimentary samples of wine, beer and spirits from local partners.

The Food Fest is supported by community partners including Fairfield U, Arts & Minds, Sturges Ridge of Fairfield, Elicit Brewing Co., First County Bank and The Goddard School of Fairfield, according to organizers. Additional partners will be announced.

Proceeds from the event will benefit Fairfield Theatre Company and support its year-round programming and commitment to the arts in the region.

Tickets go on sale in June, and availability is limited. More information is available at fairfieldfoodfest.com and on @connectfairfield.
