FAIRFIELD, CT — A 39-year-old Bronx, New York man was arrested last week on a larceny charge, after Fairfield police said he filled a piece of luggage with stolen items and walked out of a Fairfield store without paying for them, Patch has learned.

Abdelkarim Boussatha was arrested on a fourth-degree larceny charge at about 7:30 p.m. on May 11 at the Marshalls store at 700 Post Road.

Police had been called to the store on a report of a shoplifting in progress "where a man was observed filling luggage with merchandise and attempting to leave the store without paying."

"It was determined that approximately $1,851.34 worth of merchandise had been stolen, all of which was recovered and returned to the store," Fairfield Police Sgt. Jenna Wellington told Patch.

Boussatha was released after posting a $1,000 bond, and is scheduled to appear in Bridgeport Superior Court on May 22.
