• Fairfield Man Accused Of Making Threats: Police (patch.com) — Fairfield police arrested 35-year-old resident Brenden Gomola earlier this month after they say he threatened another person while two juveniles were present. Officers obtained a Risk Protection Order and seized two assault rifles and large-capacity magazines from his Fairfield home. Gomola faces multiple child endangerment, threatening, disorderly conduct, and weapons charges and is due in Bridgeport Superior Court.    

• State Sen. Tony Hwang Honored By CT Library Association (patch.com) — Fairfield’s own State Sen. Tony Hwang has been named a Legislator of the Year by the Connecticut Library Association for championing a 2025 law that improves e-book access for libraries. Fairfield’s town librarian praised Hwang as both a resident and an active supporter of Fairfield Public Library, noting his close collaboration with local librarians. Hwang, who has represented the area since 2014, plans to retire after this term.    

• Families trade claims in lawsuits over Block Island crash that killed Fairfield 16-year-old (ctpost.com) — Fairfield residents are watching closely as lawsuits continue over the 2020 Block Island crash that killed 16-year-old Fairfield Ludlowe student Jackson “Jake” Panus and injured other Ludlowe students. His family is suing the teen driver and her mother in Rhode Island, while related legal claims involving a Southport property and another Fairfield family are also being argued in court this week.
