Assault rifles seized after Fairfield man accused of threatening person, police say (ctpost.com) — Fairfield police recently seized two assault rifles and large-capacity magazines from a local man following an investigation into an alleged threat involving an adult and two juveniles. The Fairfield resident faces multiple firearm and child endangerment-related charges and was released on bond, with a court appearance scheduled in state Superior Court in Bridgeport.
4. State Sen. Tony Hwang Honored By CT Library Association (patch.com) — A Fairfield-based state senator and town resident, Tony Hwang, has been honored as a “Legislator of the Year” by the Connecticut Library Association for his work on e-book access that benefits libraries statewide, including Fairfield Public Library. Local librarian Scott Jarzombek praised Hwang’s collaboration with Fairfield’s library community and noted his long-standing support as Hwang prepares to retire from the state Senate this fall.
