FAIRFIELD, CT — Fairfield's Office of Community & Economic Development announced the opening of Dogfather Grooming, a full-service pet grooming salon at 1125 Post Road.
Town officials, including First Selectperson Christine Vitale, Community & Economic Development Director Mark Barnhart and Fairfield Chamber of Commerce President Beverly Balaz, joined the Dogfather Grooming team for a ribbon-cutting ceremony on June 24.
Dogfather Grooming was founded in 2005 by Matt Harwood. The company now operates salons in Stratford, Meriden, Shelton and Fairfield, in addition to a fleet of mobile grooming vans serving communities across Connecticut.
According to the company, the Fairfield salon offers full-service grooming, including baths, de-shedding, nail care and breed-specific grooming, as well as mobile grooming services.
The Fairfield location is managed by Rebecca Begnoche, who has worked with Dogfather Grooming for six years. Groomer McKayla Cartwright also works at the salon, providing grooming services for a variety of breeds, including senior dogs, anxious dogs and dogs with special needs, according to the company.
"We've been serving Fairfield families through our mobile grooming service for years, and we've always hoped to open a salon here," Joseph Bereski, head of operations at Dogfather Grooming, said in a statement. "Fairfield is an amazing dog community, and we're excited to finally call it home."
According to the company, the Fairfield salon offers walk-in nail trims and same-day grooming appointments. New customers are also eligible for a 20 percent discount on their first visit.
