FAIRFIELD, CT — A 62-year-old Fairfield woman was arrested Friday in connection with a crash in Nantucket, Massachusetts that killed a 62-year-old Atlantic Beach, New York woman in June, according to Nantucket police.

According to Nantucket police, the incident occurred at about 1:25 p.m. on June 29, in the parking lot of a Stop & Shop in downtown Nantucket.
"When officers arrived on location, they discovered a two-car motor vehicle accident and a female party fully underneath one of the involved vehicles," Nantucket police wrote on Facebook. "The female party was immediately attended to by police and fire personnel on scene and ultimately transported to Nantucket Cottage Hospital. The female party, Stacey J. Rosen, age 62 of Atlantic Beach, NY later died from the injuries sustained during the motor vehicle accident."
The Nantucket Current reported that after initial treatment at Nantucket Cottage Hospital, Rosen was airlifted to a mainland hospital where she died.
Featherston was allegedly operating a Rivian SUV at the time of the crash, according to the publication.
Additional information about the crash was not available from police, but authorities said that following the on-site investigation, the vehicle allegedly operated by Featherston was towed away for further evidence processing.
"The process of obtaining the possible evidence from the involved motor vehicle through the manufacturer has been significantly delayed," Nantucket police said. "This caused a delay in filing the additional charges against the involved vehicle's operator."
Court information on the charges, and whether Featherston remains in custody or is free on bond, was not immediately available.
