1 Killed In Motorcycle Crash In Fairfield: State Police

The fatal crash occurred Sunday on I-95, according to authorities.

FAIRFIELD, CT — A 37-year-old Port Chester, New York man was killed Sunday night, when his motorcycle collided with an SUV on I-95 southbound in Fairfield, according to Connecticut State Police.

Jose Bautistasoto was transported to Bridgeport Hospital following the 10:30 p.m. crash, where he was pronounced dead. No other injuries were reported.

According to state police, a 2024 Honda Prologue, driven by a 34-year-old Stamford man, was traveling south near the Fairfield Rest Area, when Bautistasoto's Yamaha YZF-R7 struck the right rear corner of the Honda.

"[Bautistasoto's motorcycle] capsized onto its side, causing [Bautistasoto] to be thrown from the vehicle," wrote state police in a release.

The crash temporarily closed a portion of I-95 while state police investigated, but the thruway has since been reopened.

State Department of Transportation personnel and Fairfield firefighters also responded to the scene to provide aid and help with traffic control.

The crash remains under investigation. Anyone who may have
