FAIRFIELD, CT — Fairfield's Ludlowe and Warde high schools are the 18th and 23rd best in Connecticut, according to the U.S. News & World Report recently released 2026-27 Best High Schools rankings.
The publication evaluated thousands of public high schools throughout the country to determine its national and state rankings, looking at measures including college readiness, graduation rates and student achievement.
Fairfield Ludlowe High School (18th), which ranked 884th nationally, received its highest marks for College Curriculum Breadth and State Assessment Proficiency.
Fairfield Warde High School (23rd), which ranked 1,111th nationally, received its highest marks in College Readiness and College Curriculum Breadth.

Additionally, the publication reviewed how well a school educates underserved students; and participation and performance on Advanced Placement and International Baccalaureate exams, among other criteria.
The rankings use data from the 2023-2024 school year and were produced with research firm RTI International.
