Fairfield Man Threw Rock At Car, Caused $4K In Damages, Cops Say

The alleged incident earlier this month led to the suspect's arrest, according to authorities.

FAIRFIELD, CT — A 44-year-old Fairfield man is facing charges after police said he threw a rock at a moving vehicle earlier this month that caused $4,000 worth of damage, according to authorities.

Michael Lamarre was arrested Aug. 12 on charges of first-degree criminal mischief, and throwing objects at a motor vehicle.

The incident allegedly occurred on Black Rock Turnpike.

"The investigation determined that Lamarre threw a large rock into the roadway, striking a vehicle traveling northbound on Black Rock Turnpike and causing approximately $4,000 in damage," Fairfield Police Sgt. Jenna Wellington told Patch. "Officers located Lamarre nearby shortly after the incident."

Lamarre was released after posting bond on bail of $5,000, and he was scheduled to appear at Bridgeport Superior Court on Wednesday.
