Marilyn "Lynn" Elizabeth Art, 85 of Milford, passed away peacefully on August 24, 2026. Marilyn was born on November 15, 1940, in Bridgeport, CT, to the late Frank and Mae (Hunyady) Kisco. She was the beloved wife of the late Walter F. Art, Jr.
Lynn graduated from Stratford High School as salutatorian in 1958 and continued her career at United Illuminating where she worked part-time while in high school. It was there, at a company Christmas party, that she met and fell in love with her husband Walt. The two were soon married in 1961 and began their life together in Bridgeport before moving to Milford, where they raised their four beloved children and made lifelong friendships. Lynn devoted her time and energy to her family, stepping away from her career to be there for her children as they grew. When they reached high school, she returned to United Illuminating and resumed her career, retiring in 1997. During the next several years Lynn worked as an administrator in the dermatology office of Dr. Theresa Huszar, MD, after which she joined Walt in retirement.
Lynn was an avid reader who enjoyed solving all types of word and Sudoku puzzles, going to dances with Walt, watching game shows and her favorite sports teams' games, trips to the casino with friends and family, and regular get-togethers with her longtime friends and former co-workers.
Lynn will be remembered for her infectious laugh, warm spirit, and beautiful smile that could light up a room. Her love for her family and the joy she brought to those around her will remain in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
Lynn is survived by her four children Deborah "Debbie" Art of Fairfield, Walter "Sandy" Art (Pamela), Richard "Richie" Art (partner Kelly Elliott), and Kenneth Art of Milford. Six grandchildren: Daniel Art (Nicole) of Loveland, Colorado, Nicholas Art, Austin Art, Jagger Art, Lars Art of Milford, Audrey Art-Leonard of Fairfield, and great-granddaughter Penelope Art, and great-grandson Lochlan Art. She also leaves behind her former daughter-in-law Sharon Art, brother-in-law Larry Art (Lorrie), sister-in-law Elaine Collins, and many additional beloved nieces, nephews, family and friends. She is predeceased by her cherished grandson Donald "D.J." Art, brother Frank J. Kisco Jr., brother Norbert Kisco, and sister-in-law Kathleen Kisco.
Family and friends are invited to gather to celebrate Lynn's legacy on Thursday, September 3, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Cody-White Funeral Home, 107 Broad Street, Milford.
