FAIRFIELD, CT — In the wake of the most recent severe storm that brought significant flooding and property damage to Fairfield, State Sen. Tony Hwang will convene and moderate an Extreme Weather & Coastal Resiliency Informational Forum on Saturday, September 19, 2026.

Fairfield residents have once again experienced firsthand how quickly severe weather can threaten homes, roads, neighborhoods, infrastructure and personal safety. The timely community forum will bring together state and local emergency management officials and resiliency experts to discuss the increasing frequency and severity of extreme weather events, Fairfield's vulnerability to coastal and inland flooding, and practical steps residents can take to better protect their families, homes and property.

"The flooding Fairfield experienced again this past week is a powerful reminder that extreme weather is not an abstract future threat, it is affecting our neighborhoods, homes and families right now." State Senator Tony Hwang

State Sen. Tony Hwang, Moderator
