Rob Blanchard Brings the Experience, Judgment and Commitment the 28th District Needs

Before I was elected to Fairfield's Board of Finance, I had the privilege of serving for a year on the Representative Town Meeting alongside Rob Blanchard. That experience gave me the opportunity to see firsthand the qualities Rob would bring to the State Senate: intelligence, preparation, an ability to listen, and a genuine commitment to public service.

Rob understands that good government is ultimately about getting things done for the people you represent. On the RTM, I saw someone who took the time to understand the issues, respected differing viewpoints, and approached decisions thoughtfully and pragmatically. He understood the importance of balancing the needs of our schools and community with the responsibility we have to taxpayers.

But Rob's qualifications extend well beyond his service in Fairfield. He brings an unusually valuable combination of local and state government experience. In addition to serving as Deputy Majority Leader of the RTM, Rob has spent years working at the highest levels of Connecticut government, including with Governor Ned Lamont and Comptroller Sean Scanlon. He understands how Hartford works, how state policy affects municipalities like ours, and — just as importantly — how to build the relationships necessary to turn good ideas into results.

That experience matters. The next senator from the 28th District should not have to learn on the job. We need someone who understands municipal budgets and property taxes, appreciates the importance of excellent public schools, and knows how decisions made in Hartford ultimately affect families and taxpayers back home.

Having served with Rob, I know the seriousness and energy he brings to public service. He will be a strong advocate for Fairfield and for every community in the 28th District.
