I want to thank you for electing me Fairfield's Probate Judge two years ago and I hope I can count on your continued support in this upcoming election.

Having spent the first 33 years of my career as a probate lawyer, it is tremendously gratifying to sit on the other side of the bench and bring not just my experience, but also the kind of compassion and fair judgement that should always characterize the proceedings and decisions of the Probate Court.

It's the nature of the Court that people almost always arrive there during emotionally stressful times with no experience of probate law and even less understanding of how the Court works. My job – which I think I have done very successfully since I was elected – is to ensure that the experience for everyone is less confusing, less intimidating and as sensitively handled as possible.

In support of that mission, I have been blessed with a wonderful staff who share my deep commitment to ensuring that every petitioner is met by a thoroughly knowledgeable and caring person whose only job it is to help them in their time of need.

Whether probating a will, seeking a guardianship, becoming a conservator, adopting a child, changing your name or dealing with the ongoing challenges of eldercare, the goal of my Court is that everyone who arrives there be treated with the fairness, compassion and the dignity that their situation demands.

Serving the people of Fairfield in their times of need has been a truly rewarding experience and I hope that you will re-elect me so that I can continue to carry out this important mission.
