FAIRFIELD, CT — Fairfield Police Cadet Post 279 is hosting a Shred Day on Saturday, Oct. 17, from 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at Fairfield Police Headquarters, 100 Reef Road in downtown Fairfield.
The event helps to raise funds for the Fairfield Police Department's Cadet Program, an effort that "helps inspire, develop and guide young people who have an interest in law enforcement and also want to give back to their community."
"Bring your unwanted documents for secure shredding while supporting the Fairfield Police Cadet Program," organizers wrote in a statement. "A $10 donation per box is requested. Rain or shine!"
All proceeds from the fundraising event will support the Cadet Program, helping to provide training and opportunities for the Cadets throughout the year.
