Amy Wilson Nessel, 46; Beloved Roger Ludlowe Middle School Counselor

A memorial service will be held June 13 in Southport.

Amy Wilson Nessel, beloved daughter of David and Judy Nessel, died on May 26 surrounded by her family.

Amy was 46 and had battled breast cancer for 5 ½ years. She was born in New York City and spent most of her life living in Fairfield. She attended Fairfield Public Schools and graduated in 1987 from Roger Ludlowe High School. She graduated from Wittenberg University and received her Masters in Counseling and Mental Health from Lesley College in Boston.

Amy was a school counselor at Roger Ludlowe Middle School and was influential in the lives of many young students and their parents. Amy was an avid tennis player and volunteered tirelessly for several local agencies committed to eradicating the curse of cancer on our society.

She is survived by her son, Sawyer Nessel, age 12, her parents, David and Judy, her brother Paul and her grandmother, Dorothy Nessel.

A memorial service will be held at Trinity Church in Southport on June 13 at 3 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family encourages friends that wish, to make donations to: The Connecticut Challenge, www.ctchallenge.org., the Norma F.
