Fairfield Senior Center Benefits from Bigelow Tea Community Challenge

The Bigelow Tea Community Challenge has been a longtime supporter of the Fairfield Senior Center, one of 17 area charities that benefits from the annual event’s proceeds.  In addition to offering daily lunches, health screenings and transportation services, the Fairfield Senior Center offers a broad spectrum of eldercare social services, recreational and educational enrichment programs to area seniors, and employs several people from The Bridge House, another of the Bigelow Tea’s chosen charities.

Shown here on a recent visit to Fairfield Senior Center is the Center’s Bigelow Tea Coffee & Tea Room Manager Toni Glore, Bigelow Tea president Cindi Bigelow and Center Director Claire Grace.

This year’s donation to the Fairfield Senior Center of $8k will fund the purchase and implementation of MySeniorCenter, a software package and service that is already helping 23 communities within Connecticut reduce paperwork and improve services.  With easy-to-use technology, the software package will serve to chart activity within the Center of programs that are most important to Fairfield’s senior residents.

“I love this place and supporting the center with well needed equipment like the MySeniorCenter is something that means a lot to us here at Bigelow,” says Cindi Bigelow.  “This new system will help the center ensure the best programming possible as well as allow them to better meet the needs of the audience which they serve.”
