Anita A. Mazas, 78; Lifelong Fairfield Resident

Anita, who worked as an X-Ray technician, was a loving sister and aunt and always put family first.

Anita A. Mazas, 78, of Fairfield, passed away on Sunday, August 14, 2016. Born in Bridgeport, daughter of the late Charles and Anna Swarney Mazas, Anita was a lifelong Fairfield Town resident.

She had worked mainly as an X-Ray technician, early on at Danbury Hospital, Bridgeport Radiology Associates, for the Vassar Brothers Hospital in Poughkeepsie, NY for over 20 years and most recently for Lacey Manufacturing in Bridgeport until her retirement. A loving sister and aunt, Anita was always family first. She also enjoyed world travel, knitting and crocheting, arts and crafts, collecting cookbooks and caring for her home and flowers.

Survivors include her sister, Barbara Mazas of Fairfield, nephews Charles Mazas III, Donald Mazas and Joseph Mazas, a niece Danielle Estes, a sister in law Lynne Mazas as well as several cousins and friends. She was predeceased by her brothers, Charles Mazas Jr and Donald Mazas Sr.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 12 noon in the Lesko & Polke Funeral Home, 1209 Post Rd., Fairfield Center with burial to follow in Mt. Grove Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday from 10 a.m. until the time of services. In lieu of flowers, Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimers Association.
