Annual Fairfield Plant Sale Moves to Black Rock Along with Irish Pub

Mother's Day Plant Sale to Help Cancer Patients Hosted by The Castle on Post Moved to The Castle, Black Rock's New Location

Fairfield resident Patrick Clyne, owner of The Castle on Post Restaurant & Pub in Fairfield, has hosted a Mother's Day Plant Sale for the past two years at his Fairfield location. This year, with his pub's planned move to Black Rock to the site of the former Forza Grill Ristorante in June, he is giving people a sneak peek of his new location on Saturday, May 7, 2022 from 10 AM to 1 PM at the newly renamed, The Castle, Black Rock at 3171 Fairfield Avenue, Bridgeport, CT 06605.

Premium Hanging Plants will be sold during that time featuring Ivy Geranium or Petunia Trailing. They are $30 each, two for $50. People can order plants online at www.clearity.org/plantsct

"We hope to open The Castle, Black Rock in June as we continue to do renovations to the new place," stated Patrick Clyne, pub owner. "This week we are painting the building outdoors and with the rain, they painters had to move indoors," Clyne added.

Proceeds from the plant sale will help ovarian cancer patients, survivors and caregivers receive scientific information, molecular profiling, clinical trials matching and counseling from Clearity, all free of charge. Last year's event raised over $10,000.

"Live plants are such a wonderful sign of spring and a beautiful gift for Mother's Day," Noreen Ford, one of the organizers said. "Women facing ovarian cancer need education and Clearity is able to help them understand a difficult diagnosis, so I want to help other women like me," stated Noreen added.
