Author Book Fair At Fairfield Library To Celebrate Local Writers

​Six area authors will be discussing their work and selling and signing copies at a Local Author Book Fair.

FAIRFIELD, CT — Six area authors will be discussing their work and selling and signing copies Tuesday at a Local Author Book Fair hosted by the Fairfield Public Library.

The event will be 1 to 3 p.m. in the Main Library’s Rotary Room.

Arno Zimmer grew up in upstate New York and currently resides in Fairfield. Inspired by a childhood experience, he wrote his first novel, "The Parlor City Boys," in 2015, and continued to expand his murder mystery repertoire after retirement. His six novels, including his latest work, "Reservoir Man: The Disappearance of Tommy Dwyer," are available on Amazon, in paperback and e-book format.

"The Red Velvet Diary" is Joan Isaacson’s first book. The story is based on memories of a happy childhood and family stories that were told to her during her youth. Isaacson was born in Naples, Italy, and is a first-generation American. She is a wife, mother of three, and grandmother of six. Isaacson was raised in New Jersey but has lived in Connecticut for the last 26 years.

Dr. Mario Dell’Olio is the author of four books: "Letters from Italy," set for publication in February 2022; "New Men: Bonds of Brotherhood," released in December 2020, and two self-published novels, both of which are finalists for the Wishing Shelf Book Awards. "Coming About: Life in the Balance" is a memoir of a sailing adventure gone terribly wrong, while "Body and Soul" is LGBTQ fiction that explores the strife of coming out during the 1980s within the world of the Catholic Church. Susan M. Meyers is an optimist who believes the world would be better served if everyone were more aligned with their greater purpose. The challenge as she sees it is not only to serve one’s purpose, but also to adapt as it changes from time to time. When Meyers found herself questioning her own purpose, she set out to regain it, and was moved to write "The Decorating Club" in the hope of helping others facing similar challenges. Ron Blumenfeld is a native New Yorker (the Bronx) and retired pediatrician and health care executive who reunited with his inner writer. He is a product of a New York education: Bronx High School of Science, City College of New York, and SUNY/Downstate Medical Center. After his pediatrics residency at the University of Arizona in Tucson, he relocated to Fairfield, where he’s been ever since. In retirement, Blumenfeld became a columnist for the Fairfield Citizen-News, but surrendered that pleasure to focus on his debut novel, "The King’s Anatomist."
