Back To School: Fairfield 2026-27 School Calendar

FAIRFIELD, CT — Back-to-school planning is well underway in Fairfield, with the 2026–27 public school calendar available to help parents prepare for the first day in Fairfield Public Schools.

The first day of school for most public school students in Fairfield is Tuesday, Sept. 1.

Below are some of the important dates heading into the upcoming school year. Some dates are subject to change:

• Labor Day: Sept. 7 - Schools Closed
• Yom Kippur: Sept. 21 - Schools Closed
• Early Dismissal/PK-8: Oct. 13
• Early Dismissal/High Schools: Oct. 14
• Early Dismissal/PK-8: Oct. 20
• Election Day; Professional Development: Nov. 3 - Schools Closed
• Thanksgiving Recess: Nov. 25 (Early Dismissal), Nov. 26 and 27
• Winter Recess: Dec. 23 (Early Dismissal), Dec. 24 through Jan. 1, 2027
• Martin Luther King Jr. Day: Jan. 18 - Schools Closed
• Presidents' Day/February Recess: Feb. 11 (Early Dismissal), 12 & 15 - Schools Closed
• Early Dismissal: March 9
• Eid al-Fitr: March 10 - Schools Closed
• Early Dismissal/PK-5: March 16
• Good Friday: March 26 - Schools Closed
• Spring Recess: April 12 through 17 - Schools Closed
• Memorial Day - May 31 - Schools Closed
