Beloved Blinn's Bids Fond Farewell
The Fairfield toy store officially closed its doors last week.

After more than 80 years of putting smiles on the faces of children of all ages, Blinn’s Toy Store officially closed its doors last Saturday.
Blinn’s announced in February that it would be closing because it could no longer compete with Internet shopping.
Blinn’s posted the following message on Facebook after the store was officially closed on April 18:

At the end of the day on April 18, Blinn’s Toy Store closed its doors. We thank the customers who supported us through the decades and generations. If you have need to contact us please do so by email info@blinns.com Thank you
The final day was an emotional one for owner Mark Crofutt, who was overcome with emotion while trying to talk about the end with the Fairfield Citizen.

Crofutt’s father, Frank, moved the toy store to Fairfield in 1960 after buying it from Al Blinn, who opened the store in Bridgeport in 1933.
