Bicyclist Critically Injured In Fairfield Crash: Police
The Tuesday afternoon crash occurred on Morehouse Highway.
FAIRFIELD, CT — A bicyclist was critically injured Tuesday afternoon in a collision with a motor vehicle on Morehouse Highway in Fairfield, according to police.
The crash occurred at about 5:50 p.m.
"The Fairfield Police Department Crash Reconstruction Unit responded to the scene and determined that a motor vehicle traveling northbound on Morehouse Highway was attempting to make a left turn onto Canterbury Lane when it struck a bicyclist traveling southbound on Morehouse Highway," Sgt. Jenna Wellington said in a statement to Patch.

According to Wellington, the bicyclist was listed in critical but stable condition; no other injuries were reported.
"Based on the findings of the investigation, the operator of the motor vehicle was issued an infraction for Turning Left Into Oncoming Traffic When Not Clear, in violation of Connecticut General Statutes § 14-242e," Wellington said.
