Fairfield CERT Disaster Preparedness Training

Fairfield's Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) is offering free disaster preparedness training to residents 18+: five Saturdays, 8am-2pm, February 28, March 7, 14, 21, and 28, 2026. Attendance at all sessions is required. The curriculum includes instruction in basic disaster response skills including team organization, disaster medical operations, fire safety, light search and rescue, emergency shelter operations, and more. Fairfield CERT trains and organizes volunteers to assist the community during emergencies when professional responders may not be immediately available. Upon completing the CERT Basic Training course, participants are eligible and invited to join the Fairfield CERT Team, which provides support to Fairfield’s first responders and emergency management efforts. The team currently has over 100 trained volunteers and is part of a network of more than 2,700 CERT teams nationwide. Members also have opportunities to attend additional and advanced emergency preparedness training tailored to Fairfield's specific needs.
