FAIRFIELD, Conn. — WSHU Public Radio invites audiences to a special one-night-only East Coast premiere of Morton Meets the Eye, an original musical-comedy-murder-mystery created by Easton native Jon Sonneborn and directed by Christopher Maltauro. Following a sold-out premiere at the Beverly Hills Film Festival, the film will make its East Coast debut on Monday, July 20, at 7 p.m. at the SHU Community Theatre in Fairfield.

Blending mystery, music, comedy, and suspense, Morton Meets the Eye follows amateur sleuth Morton as he embarks on a quest to uncover the true identity of the elusive detective known only as “The Eye.” Along the way, audiences are treated to a world of catchy original songs, unexpected twists, and colorful characters.

The film features an accomplished ensemble cast including Natasha Henstridge, Daniel Roebuck, Chris Browning, Potsch Boyd, Lukas Hassel, Jessica Sonneborn, Augie Duke, and Jon Sonneborn in the title role of Morton. Original songs were written by Greg Cebulski.

Following the screening, guests will enjoy an exclusive talkback with the film’s producer, director, and cast members, offering a behind-the-scenes look at the creative process and inspiration behind the project.

“This special premiere brings a unique independent film to Connecticut audiences while supporting the future of public media,” said WSHU General Manager Brad Dancer. “It promises to be an entertaining evening of film, conversation, and community.”

The event serves as a fundraiser for WSHU Public Radio, with proceeds supporting the station’s mission to provide trusted journalism, engaging storytelling, and cultural programming throughout the region.
