Chip City Cookies To Open In Former T-Mobile Store In Fairfield
The popular New York and New Jersey cookie shop reportedly is also planning to open a location in Darien.

FAIRFIELD, CT — Chip City Cookies, a New York-based cookie-focused bakery, is slated to open new stores in Fairfield and Darien later this year, reported New Haven Biz.
The bakery currently has 18 locations in New York and New Jersey, and the two Fairfield County sites would mark the company's first foray into Connecticut.
Chip City was started in 2017 in Queens, New York "as a hobby between two childhood friends [co-founders Peter Phillips and Teddy Gailas] as they sought to recreate the simple taste of their childhood," according to the company's website.

Mark Barnhart, Fairfield's Director of Community & Economic Development, said he looks forward to Chip City joining the town's bakery options.
"I am very fortunate to work for a community that businesses such as Chip City are looking to invest, and with a collection of experienced and knowledgeable commercial brokers who often do much of the heavy lifting….so I don’t want to take credit where credit isn’t due," Barnhart wrote in an email to Patch. "All that said, this is a terrific location for Chip City, and we look forward to working with them to welcome Chip City to Fairfield and to ensure a successful opening and long and prosperous tenure in Town."
