Climate Resilience & Flood Mitigation Plan Meeting Scheduled In Fairfield
The plan is intended to address increasing risks from inland and coastal flooding, as well as coastal erosion.
FAIRFIELD, CT — Fairfield officials will host a public meeting on Wednesday, Feb. 11, to provide an update on the Climate Resilience and Flood Mitigation Plan. The meeting is scheduled for 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Fairfield Fire Training Center, Classroom A, 205 Richard White Way.
The plan is intended to address increasing risks from inland and coastal flooding, as well as coastal erosion. According to the town, the effort seeks to better understand local vulnerabilities, assess current and future flood risks, and identify potential mitigation projects along with their estimated costs.
As part of the initiative, the town has created an online flood viewer that allows staff and residents to see projected impacts from stormwater, riverine, and coastal flooding under present and future conditions.
