FAIRFIELD, CT — A party hosted by Emmy-winning reporter and Fairfield resident Armen Keteyian resulted in a confrontation with a neighbor and a criminal charge for Keteyian’s wife, according to police.

Officers were called several times the night of Sept. 4 to the Keteyian home in the 300 block of Birch Road about a loud party, police said. The first two noise complaints, both around 11 p.m., resulted in warnings for Keteyian, but after a third complaint about 11:30 p.m., Keteyian was issued an infraction for creating a public disturbance, according to police.

Keteyian is an 11-time Emmy Award winner and New York Times bestselling author who has appeared on "60 Minutes," "CBS Evening News," CBS Sports and ABC News.

Keteyian's party included about 10 people and did not violate pandemic safety protocols, police said.

Just after midnight, officers were called to the home of Keteyian’s neighbor, who said Keteyian and his wife, Doris Keteyian, entered his property, and that Doris Keteyian struck him, according to police. After Armen Keteyian was given the infraction, the Keteyians, their guests and the neighbor shouted at one another, with the Keteyians eventually walking onto the neighbors front yard and arguing with him, police said, adding the neighbor recorded the incident on his cellphone.

At one point, Doris Keteyian advanced toward the neighbor and raised her arm, police said the cellphone video showed. The neighbor was not injured, according to police, but said he wanted Doris Keteyian arrested.

Doris Keteyian said she only waved a napkin at the neighbor, according to police. She was charged with second-degree breach of peace and released by officers on a promise to appear in court Oct. 5, police said.

Just before 2 a.m. Sept. 5, officers returned to the neighbor’s house after a speaker blaring music was placed on the neighbor's lawn, according to police, who took the speaker, but found that it was seemingly replaced with another speaker minutes later. Both speakers belonged to a party guest of the Keteyians. The guest admitted to putting the speakers on the neighbor’s lawn in retaliation for an earlier dispute, police said. The guest was issued an infraction for creating a public disturbance, according to police.

Neither Armen nor Doris Keteyian responded to a message left on the voicemail for a phone number associated with the couple’s Birch Road address.
