Coronavirus Fairfield: 3 New Cases Confirmed
A total of eight cases of the new coronavirus have been confirmed in Fairfield.
FAIRFIELD, CT — The number of confirmed cases of the new coronavirus continues to rise in Fairfield and throughout the state, with the town announcing Monday that eight cases had been confirmed locally — an increase of three new cases since Saturday.
“Fairfield County has the highest number of cases and we expect numbers to grow in the coming days,” First Selectwoman Brenda Kupchick said in an email to residents. “The Town of Fairfield is doing all that we can to flatten the curve but we can’t do it without cooperation from our residents by following physical social distancing, washing hands frequently and staying home unless you need food or medical supplies.”
As of Monday afternoon, there were 270 confirmed cases of the new coronavirus in Fairfield County, according to state data. Across Connecticut, 415 cases had been confirmed, 10 of which were fatal.

The new coronavirus has brought sweeping changes to daily life in Connecticut. Schools and non-essential businesses are closed and expected to stay that way until late April. In Fairfield, public recreation areas are no longer open and town services have adjusted operations.
