It's clear that most everyone in the state who is eligible for a jab and wants one, has gotten one. Most age tiers across the state have barely gained a percentage point in new vaccinations per week, over the past few weeks of DPH data.

The fastest growing segment of the state’s vaccinated population is school-age children. Residents age 12-15 have seen about a 2 percent jump in vaccinations over the past week.

With the start of the 2021-22 school year, all public and private prekindergarten-12 schools in Fairfield are once again required to report any student or staff person with a new positive test for COVID-19. Testing may or may not be done at the school. Some schools offer the testing, but the tests are often done outside the school by the person’s healthcare provider or at a community COVID-19 testing site. A student is any student enrolled at the school, regardless of which town they live in.
