Creative Writing Workshop at Pequot Library

Led by award-winning author, Adair W. Heitmann, a creative writing workshop will be held at Pequot Library on Saturday, May 21, from 10 a.m. to 12 noon. All levels welcome.

It's open to beginning, intermediate, and advanced writers. Come to strengthen your writing muscles in fun and creative ways. Leave with: a blog idea, an essay, a first paragraph, first or last page, your inspiration. Bring your own writing implements.

All writing is done, through customized writing prompts, in the workshop. Leader, Adair Heitmann, will briefly introduce each concept and prompt (writing time: approx.15 - 30 minutes each). You are given the opportunity to share your words at the end of each session. Possible theme for May 21: Flower symbols & Armed Forces Day .

About the Leader
Adair W. Heitmann, BFA is an award-winning author, artist, and teacher. Her work appears in hundreds of newspapers, is published in over 30 magazines, and in three anthologies. A recipient of a grant from the Connecticut Department of Culture and Tourism she received The Versatile Blogger Award for the Fairfield Writer’s Blog at Fairfield Public Library in 2012 and the Connecticut Library Association Publicity Award for Pequot Library in 2015. For seven years she led a popular on-going and year-round writing critique group at Fairfield Public Library, and she gives custom programs on “How to Build a Writer’s Platform” at Darien Library. Heitmann is listed in many Who’s Who including Who’s Who in American Education and The World’s Who’s Who of Women. Her speaking engagements include the University of Connecticut, Greenwich Hospital, the National Society of American Pen Women, and Sacred Heart University. She has been writing for her Creativity and Wellness blog for over seven years. With a rich background in creative, corporate, academic, health, literary, and entrepreneurial environments she brings a wealth of experience to every program she leads.
