Maisel is the son of ESPN senior writer Ivan Maisel and Meg Murray.

Murray told a Democrat and Chronicle reporter on Thursday that “We’re praying very, very hard. This is the worst thing. We miss him and we can’t wait to see him.”

The Rochester Police Department is working on piecing together clues, according to the family, and Ivan Maisel told the Democrat and Chronicle that a passerby saw Max on the Charlotte pier around 8 p.m. on Sunday, when it was windy and snowy, but added that he was dressed for the weather.

Anyone with any information on Max Maisel’s whereabouts is asked to contact Rochester Police Department Investigator Kevin Wehbring at 585-428-6293.
