CT Coronavirus Updates: 33 Deaths, 1,524 Positive Cases

CONNECTICUT — Once again Connecticut saw a surge in the number of new positive coronavirus cases. The number of positive cases is now at 1,524, which is a 225 increase over the past 24 hours.

The number of total deaths rose to 33 on Saturday, which is an increase of six over the past day and the number of hospitalizations also increased by 32 to 205.

Of the 33 reported deaths, 20 are in Fairfield County, six in New Haven County, four in Tolland County, two in Hartford County and one in Middlesex County.

Of the 1,524 cases, 908 are in Fairfield County, 236 in New Haven County, 228 in Hartford County, Litchfield County, 65, Tolland County, 37, Middlesex County, 28, New London County, 19, and Windham County, 3.

In total, more than 10,200 tests have been administered in Connecticut. Towns reporting more than 100 cases are: Norwalk, 139, Danbury, 123, and Westport, 101, followed by Stamford, 86, and Greenwich, 79.
