Decision Reached On Fairfield's Coastal Swimming Areas After Rainstorm
Sunday's storm dumped about 7 inches of rain throughout the area.
FAIRFIELD, CT — All coastal swimming areas in Fairfield, and Lake Mohegan, are closed Monday, Sept. 14, due to elevated levels of bacteria in the water after Sunday's rainstorm, health officials announced.
When the beaches and lake will reopen was not disclosed. Swimming areas are tested for bacteria levels, and they are not reopened until test results are deemed safe.
