Driver Crashes Into Business; Severely Injured: Fairfield Fire Department
The driver's injuries were severe but not life-threatening, according to Fairfield officials.

FAIRFIELD, CT — A driver was seriously injured after crashing into a Fairfield business in the early morning hours Sunday, according to the fire department.
The incident was reported about 2:30 a.m. and occurred on the Post Road, the fire department said in a news release. Emergency personnel extricated the driver, whose injuries were severe but not life-threatening, according to the department. The driver was taken to a hospital in an ambulance, the news release said, adding the cause of the crash is under investigation by Fairfield police.
The fire department did not disclose which business was struck, but a photo released by the agency showed signage indicating it specialized in eye exams and eyewear.
